What is Botox?
Botox is an injected liquid used to treat frown lines, squint and smile lines, nasal crunch lines, and horizontal forehead wrinkles. It relaxes underlying muscles, which makes the lines more shallow and less prominent.
Botox is made in a laboratory. It is a neurotoxin derived from Clostridium botulinum, an organism found in the natural environment where it is largely inactive and non-toxic. Botox is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment, with more than 6 million Botox treatments administered each year.
How Long Do Botox Results Last?
Most patients find that Botox results last somewhere between 3-6 months, and most come 2-3 times per year for treatments. Every patient is unique and their experiences may differ somewhat.
